Health Sciences Librarianship My background in healthcare and interest in the field of health sciences librarianship has led me to focus many of my projects in this area. I was also able to complete an internship as Health Literacy Coordinator for Oregon Literacy, Inc and a practicum working on the consumer health collection of the Newberg Public Library, as part of their collaborative partnership with the Providence Newberg Medical Center. In addition, I have volunteered at the Tuality Healthcare libraries, worked with the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Medical Library Association 2005 Conference committee, and attended workshops on a variety of health information topics. By tying my interest in this area of librarianship into the learning process I was able to explore a variety of concepts and practice settings involved in this specialty.
