Customization & Client-Centered Service These projects demonstrate a client-centered philosophy, including the creation of customized information services and products based on a diagnosed need.
 | My practicum revolved around the revitalization of the consumer health partnership, between the public library and new medical center, and creation of a Health Resource Center. |
 | My team, which included Kristen Northrup, Roberta Richards, Leora Troper and myself, was asked to identify barriers to usage of the records management database used by the department and to help formulate a strategy for effective training for the department in order to increase employee use of the database. We did an extensive community analysis, including a survey, interviews and observation. |
 | In order for our client to secure potential funding for a benchmark survey on the effects of autoimmune diseases, Meredith Solomon and I created a database of pharmaceutical companies vested in autoimmune therapies, including contact and financial information, areas of interest and disease overlap. In addition we provided resources for updating and expanding the research as needed, and research to support the need for such a project. |
 | A reference collection case study of the Medical Assisting Department in an effort to improve the library offerings in this and related departments on the campus. A library space was created and this is a start-up proposal based on a diagnosis of need and the design of a customized collection, in collaboration with department and campus stakeholders.

PNC/MLA Program, 2005
I designed the printed program for the annual conference of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Medical Library Association , working with the conference planning committee to ensure all pertinent information was readily available to participants of the 4-day event. The
Conference At A Glance
was also included as a badge insert.
Tutor Helpline
My team, Holly Campbell-Polivka, Sue Phelps and I, created a tutor resources database design for Oregon Literacy, Inc. The non-profit organization needed a database to maintain a searchable online collection of resources to support literacy tutors throughout the state, and their instructional needs. The project is being completed by a consulting firm and will be available through the OLI website www.oregonliteracy.org.
